What should a new client know about working with you?

It’s essential for a new client to know that my priority is always on their needs. I strive to understand the client’s needs from their perspective and use collaboration to set goals that are meaningful and attainable. Also, I believe that to develop a genuine connection, there has to be open communication and trust, which is why I center accountability with my clients. I use play, creativity, nature, and fun to create a space where children and teens can express themselves freely. I hope, together, we can take significant steps towards achieving your goals.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process when working with clients begins with acknowledging the strength it takes to seek therapy. I then take the time to understand their needs by asking what they envision for their therapeutic space and what their goals are. After that, I explore possible frameworks for addressing these goals and examine how societal systems, relational dynamics, thought patterns, feelings, and past experiences have influenced them. As we start treatment, I emphasize collaboration and strive to create an environment where clients can lead and share their insights. Through treatment, in partnership with the client we identify tools and techniques that help them achieve their goals and develop a strong sense of self. By the end of treatment, my hope is that clients leave with something meaningful and valuable from our time together.
