The second connects who we are with others and the world. Alfie holds licenses in Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) and is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC). He earned his Master’s in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Texas Southwestern and a Bachelor’s from NSCAD University. He also has teacher training and offers workshops in MBSR, MSC, and Making Friends with Yourself (MFY) – a program for adolescents. Alfie Wishart, CCH, RSHom (NA), RSHom (UK), began his career in alternative health as an herbalist, working in an herb store in Austin in the seventies. What should a new client know about working with you?

I have many years of experience with inpatient, outpatient, and private practice with a wide range of ethnicities, diagnoses, religious persuasions, ages, and net worth. With all my experience, nothing is going to shock me. I am here because I love what I do and want my clients to have their best possible life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My approach in psychotherapy is openness. I invite clients to express their needs, confusions, successes, aspirations - whatever their issues may be. My intention is to help my clients recognize, appreciate, and engage their inner resources to resolve their difficulties. I just lead the way.
