Getting to know Alfredo Ramos
As a Licensed Professional of the Healing Arts, my goal and motivation are to help clients work through their distress to achieve positive results. I work well with children, adults, and couples seeking to alleviate stress, relationship difficulties, emotional distress, parenting challenges, and self-esteem issues, among others. My ideal client is you—someone who has decided to take a step into the healing art of psychotherapy. Positive Mindful Counseling has a dedicated staff whose goal is to provide the most comfortable, evidence-based, and solution-focused service. We specialize in psychotherapy and high-level life coaching, always focusing on clear progress toward measurable goals.
My educational background includes a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Albizu University, and I hold an active license. I am also a Ph.D. candidate in the Human Services field. I have practiced psychotherapy using empathetic skills, always finding the appropriate angle to build trust with clients, which is essential to achieving positive results.
What should a new client know about working with you?
While mental health advocacy is our goal, alleviating mental health distress is our expertise. We focus on empathy and CBT, more specifically Exposure Response Prevention, to help our clients face their fears and manage their concerns in real time with evidence-based strategies.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
The first session is dedicated to building rapport and trust by listening to your concerns and beginning to create a solution-focused pathway. The second session is dedicated to building together a realistic treatment plan. Third session and on we work toward meeting your established goals.

Alfredo and his staff are very welcoming sine the phone consultation. I felt comfortable starting therapy for the first time thanks to Alfredo's approach and empathy. He also challenges me to see different perspectives, which has helped me resolve some issues.

I really like Alfredo's therapeutic approach. He uses ERP, which not many therapists do. While at first it was difficult, his support and consistency has helped me trust this therapy style. I feel much better today. I look forward to the next session.
