Getting to know Alicia Carmona

If you’re stuck in a loop of overthinking, battling burnout, or struggling to find your voice, I want you to know: you aren’t alone. I’m Alicia Carmona, a bilingual LMFT in Southern California. Having personally navigated the weight of anxiety, I am deeply passionate about helping teens (15+) and adults break free from the patterns of people-pleasing and stress that hold them back. My approach combines the practical tools of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with a compassionate, client-centered style. Whether you are navigating relationship challenges or feeling overwhelmed by life's pressures, I provide a judgment-free online space where we can work together to help you truly thrive.

What should a new client know about working with you?

A Collaborative, Low-Pressure Space Starting therapy can feel daunting, but my goal is to make our sessions a "soft landing." You can expect a safe, non-judgmental environment where we collaborate as equals. We will explore your thoughts and behaviors at a pace that feels right for you—whether you want to dive deep or share just a little at a time. My style is warm and conversational, but focused on results. We’ll work on gaining insight into your patterns while building the tangible coping skills you need to feel more in control and communicate more effectively in your daily life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Connection, Insight, and Empowerment The Intake: Our first session is a "get-to-know-you" phase. We’ll review your history and discuss what you’re hoping to achieve. There’s no pressure to have all the answers; we’re just setting the foundation. The Foundation: In the first few weeks, we’ll identify the specific loops of overthinking or stress that are impacting you most. The Work: We’ll use a personalized blend of CBT and compassionate exploration to challenge those patterns and build healthier habits. The Goal: Progress looks like feeling empowered, setting better boundaries, and living a life that feels authentic to you, rather than one lived for others.
