Psychotherapist
TX
To me, therapy should always be a safe place—a safe place to cry, be mad, be scared, talk out new ideas, you name it! But as safe as therapy can be, that doesn’t necessarily mean it will be easy. My goal as a therapist is to create a safe environment and relationship where my clients can process whatever is truly going on in their lives—not just the version they think is acceptable to show. I use a conversational and genuine approach to help my clients develop this sense of safety. I deliver and help evaluate difficult truths in a way that allows the client to decide how to proceed. My therapy office may hold tough emotions, difficult decisions, and tearful assessments of life, but it will never hold judgments, criticisms, or shame for choices made by my clients. Ultimately, I want to walk with my clients through the hardships they face and celebrate the victories they work hard for. I have worked as a therapist for almost five years. I have empathized with people processing past regrets, wrongdoings, and failed relationships. I have also walked alongside clients who have faced loss, traumatic abuse, and significant abandonment. In addition, I have worked with cases of anxiety, fear, life transitions, and self-esteem. Some of these experiences came from general counseling clinics, and some were behind cases of substance abuse at the treatment facility where I have worked for the last three years. To me, all of these difficulties are equally important and deserve to be handled with the same grace, empathy, and care. I earned my Master of Arts in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and hold a bachelor’s degree from Tarleton State University. Connection is very important to me, and I love connecting with family, friends, and people I meet throughout the day. I have a Maltese mix named Ducky and a German Shorthaired Pointer named Phantom who keep me on my toes and busy.
