What was your path to becoming a mental health provider? I wanted to understand myself better and my family dynamics confused me, so I took a psych class in high school. I realized how interesting the mind is. I wanted to know more. 20+ years later I’m still learning. There is no need to rush. Sometimes we’ll press pause to slow down. I have worked in many different treatment settings which has helped me better understand all the different types of people. My time in NYC taught me the most about loss. I enjoy working with adults (18+). I’ve realized through working with Millennials and older Gen Zs that there is a need for a different kind coping and support due to the changes in the current political climate and the impacts of COVID. What should someone know about working with you? Therapy can be scary, especially when it’s your first time, so I enjoy using humor when appropriate. I will help guide you if you need help with what to talk about in session(s). Through our work together we will find coping strategies and skills to help manage your feelings. We will learn so much about you and come to understand how to best help you. Emotional regulation will feel easier. You will have space to think about more than just what bothers you/what happened this week. It is a space to think deeply. How do you continue learning and building new skills? In order to best understand the populations I work with I am always learning. I love to learn and be challenged. In December 2024 I completed a two year training through the Contemporary Freudian Society’s Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Program. This program is based in NYC and also required me to seek weekly supervision from a training analyst. Since completing I do continue to seek supervision so that I may provide the best possible care. I also attend continuing education courses to fulfill the state requirements for NY, NJ, and FL licensures.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Online or in person. You don't have to be in crisis to have a therapist. Let's slow down and understand what is going on for you.I work with people who are used to holding everything together. Therapy gives us somewhere to slow down and understand what's actually happening underneath all that functioning. A lot of my clients are professionals in their 20s through 40s who look like they're managing everything, but privately feel anxious, disconnected, burned out, or caught in relationships they don't fully understand.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I mainly use psychodynamic psychotherapy, so we pay attention to the patterns underneath the immediate problem. We especially patterns in relationships, self-worth, grief, and the ways people've learned to keep functioning even when they're not really okay. This helps people slow down, understand the patterns beneath what they're feeling, and make changes that are deeper and more lasting.
