What should a new client know about working with you?

I like to use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my practice. In your first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy and decide on some goals for treatment together. I will usually then ask you to begin logging some of your common negative thoughts throughout the week. With CBT, we'll examine how your thoughts and behaviors affect your emotions and how to use more helpful thinking styles. I use humor and a down to earth style to help our sessions feel conversational, not stuffy. My approach emphasizes encouragement, support, and accountability to help those motivated to make meaningful changes in their lives.
