Psychotherapist
TX
Hello, I'm Alicia. I completed my Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Colorado State University and went on to earn my Master's in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University in California. With over 15 years of experience, I've had the privilege of working with adults with disabilities, helping them gain independence and build supportive networks. Becoming a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist was a natural step for me, as I deeply believe in the power and healing that comes from connection and relationships. My approach to therapy is genuine and non-judgmental, aiming to create a safe space where you feel heard and understood. I believe that when you can trust someone else, it paves the way for you to trust and believe in yourself. I specialize in trauma, relationships, addiction, anxiety, and ADHD, and am trained in EMDR (EMDRIA approved) in process of certification, which allows me to support you in processing trauma in a collaborative and effective manner. In our sessions, I focus on teaching mindfulness, grounding techniques, and other coping skills to help you regulate your emotions and improve your relationships. My goal is to empower you to navigate life's challenges with resilience and confidence. When I'm not working, you can often find me enjoying the great outdoors—whether it's camping, hiking, or kayaking with family and friends. I also love spending time with my fur babies, including my beagles, Cooper and Bruno, and my kitty cats, Charlie, Sven and Raya. These moments of relaxation and connection with nature and loved ones help me recharge and stay grounded. I look forward to the possibility of working together and supporting you on your journey. If you're ready to take the next step, feel free to reach out. Let's explore how we can work together to help you achieve your goals.
