Getting to know Alina Schmelzer

I am a highly motivated LCSW with 16 years of clinical and diagnostic experience, in a variety of settings, who is able to build trusting relationships with clients and to help empower them to reach their goals. I have worked with a variety of diagnoses and populations, including hospitals, emergency rooms, schools, day treatment centers and a weight management clinic. I love working with people who have perhaps never utilized therapy. I love working with those who have tried therapy but perhaps something felt off or it was not the right fit. I rely on a multi technique approach including using psychodynamic, CBT, DBT and radical acceptance therapy and others. Most important before using any type of specific therapy, my passion is to make sure the person feels heard and see in a non judgmental environment.
