Alison Bankston, LPC Associate

Psychotherapist
TX
The provider is supervised by April West. My name is Alison (Ali) Bankston, a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate (LPC-Associate) under the supervision of April West, LPC-S. Before stepping into the world of private practice, I spent over a decade in education—serving as a general education teacher, special education specialist, behavior interventionist, and most recently, a school counselor. These roles allowed me to walk alongside students and families navigating complex emotional, developmental, and behavioral challenges. That experience deeply shapes my work today. I specialize in supporting individuals who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of what’s next—whether it’s a teenager grappling with anxiety and identity, or an adult carrying long-held grief or self-doubt. My counseling style is warm, supportive, and grounded in practical strategies for real-life change. I draw from a blend of therapeutic approaches—Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Person-Centered Therapy—to create a space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions without judgment. I believe therapy should feel human. It should feel like a place where you are fully seen, gently challenged, and deeply supported. What I Offer:-Experience with school-related stress, ADHD, and emotional regulation. -Tools for navigating life transitions, anxiety, grief, and identity struggles. -Optional integration of faith-based counseling for clients who desire it. -A collaborative, encouraging space focused on growth—not perfection. Whether you're a teen, parent, or adult in transition, you're not alone—and you don’t have to stay stuck. Healing is possible, and I’d be honored to walk with you in it and through it.
