Getting to know Alison Pugh

You spend so much of your life taking care of everyone else that you’ve forgotten what it feels like to take care of yourself. I help veterans, first responders, healthcare workers, and caregivers move from surviving to feeling calmer, more present, and more like themselves again. You’ve learned to push through stress because that’s what’s always been expected of you. Staying busy, ignoring it, or waiting for life to slow down hasn’t worked because survival mode doesn’t turn itself off. Together, we’ll help your nervous system feel safe again so lasting change becomes possible.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Together, we’ll build practical skills to manage anxiety, process difficult experiences, communicate your needs, and set boundaries without guilt. You’ll better understand your nervous system and learn how to respond instead of react. Those small, consistent changes create a calmer, more balanced life that feels sustainable.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Clients describe me as warm, down-to-earth, and easy to talk to. As an Air Force veteran, working mom, and therapist, I understand the weight of always being the strong one. You don’t have to figure this out alone. If you’re ready to feel more like yourself again, I’d love to help you get there.

More information on payments and coverage

I accept several major insurance plans, though coverage varies by provider and location. Before your first appointment, we will work to verify your benefits so you have a clear understanding of coverage and any potential out-of-pocket costs. If you have questions about insurance, payment options, or scheduling, I encourage you to reach out. I’m happy to help you understand your options and see if we would be a good fit to work together.

I always leave feeling lighter, more grounded, and with a clearer understanding of what I’m experiencing. If you’re looking for someone who is compassionate, down-to-earth, and genuinely invested in your growth, I can’t recommend Ali enough.
I was looking for someone who would understand the stress that comes with serving others without having to explain every part of my experience. Ali created that space from day one. She’s compassionate, genuine, and offers practical strategies that have helped me manage anxiety, improve my relationships, and finally feel like I’m not carrying everything alone.
Ali is incredibly easy to talk to and creates a space where you feel comfortable from the very first session. She listens without judgment, asks thoughtful questions, and offers practical tools that actually help outside of therapy.
