Getting to know Allen Johnson

My name is Dr. Allen Johnson, a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor, specializing in trauma resolution through experiential and evidence-based methods. With over a decade of experience in trauma recovery, addiction treatment, and experiential methods, I've learned to utilize group protocols through action methods that promote catharsis, restructuring, and reintegration of the self in recovering from trauma. My wife Jill Johnson, MA, MDiv., is also available when we work with individuals, or couples. As a trained auxiliary ego, she is able to play roles of either people in your life, or various parts of yourself. Members of the group are the therapeutic agents for each other. Seeing through each other's eyes; role reversal is a powerful catalyst for change. We are working to have an ongoing group with a different recovery topic every month (workbook included).

What should a new client know about working with you?

We are a husband-and-wife team who specialize in helping people who struggle with Relational Trauma and Addictions. Although group therapy is our specialty, we do offer some individual sessions, and work with couples using role play.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Psychodrama involves physically and mentally working through past or present scenarios to have closure, or to be better prepared for life. If you have tried talk therapy and didn't find the experience beneficial then maybe this form of therapy is right for you.
