Allen-Michael Lewis, MS, LMFT

Psychotherapist
PA
Many of my clients come to therapy seeking a deeper understanding of themselves, their patterns, and their relationships. Some want to better understand their internal world, while others are looking for ways to feel more seen, heard, and connected in the relationships that matter most. Together, we explore the different parts of yourself; the ones that protect, worry, strive and avoid, and the function beneath them. We also examine the stories and beliefs that have shaped how you see yourself and move through the world, where these narratives came from, and whether they still support the life and relationships you want to build. I approach therapy with the understanding that you/your relationships are more than your symptoms. Your lived experiences, identities, and the systems around you all matter. My goal is to create a collaborative and supportive space where you can show up authentically, deepen your understanding of yourself, and create meaningful change; even when growth feels uncomfortable.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I blend humor, warmth, and clinical training to create a therapeutic experience that feels both supportive and human. Whether you’re new to therapy or have been in therapy before, I want you to feel seen, understood, and respected for who you are. Building a sense of safety and trust is an important part of our work together. Therapy often asks us to talk about experiences, thoughts, and feelings that can be difficult to share. My goal is to create a space where you can explore those parts of yourself at your own pace, without judgment, while knowing that we’re navigating the process together.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our initial sessions, I focus on getting to know you. Not just what brings you to therapy, but the experiences, relationships, patterns, and history that have shaped who you are today. Together, we’ll work to understand where some of the current patterns, coping skills and defensives began while also staying grounded in what you’re experiencing in the present. My goal is to create a collaborative, welcoming space where you can ease into the therapeutic process, feel understood, and show up authentically as yourself.
