You have a fundamental right to feel happy, loved, and connected. But life can sometimes get in the way. Struggles like anxiety, depression, and low self-worth are more common than many people realize, and they often stem from past trauma, challenging life experiences, or even things outside our control like genetics. You might feel like you’re your own worst critic, constantly judging or doubting yourself. The truth is, we’re all doing the best we can, and we all deserve support to heal, grow, and fully accept who we are. In my practice, I work with individuals of all ages, including children. For younger clients, I offer play therapy, which gives kids a natural and effective way to express themselves, work through emotions, and build resilience. I also support clients dealing with PTSD, ADHD, OCD, and other mental health concerns, helping them navigate the ups and downs with care and compassion. I welcome people exactly as they are, embracing all genders, sexualities, races, ethnicities, identities, and backgrounds. I’m trained in evidence-based therapies such as EMDR, CBT, and DBT. For clients who are Christian, I’m also able to incorporate faith-based approaches into therapy, if that’s something that would feel meaningful and supportive to you. I love my work and I’m passionate about helping people explore not just their mental health struggles, but their values, purpose, and meaning. I sincerely want to help you not only meet your goals but enjoy a sense of optimism about your life and the future. I would love to meet you and explore how we might work together toward your goals.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe therapy works best when you feel comfortable being yourself. My style is laid-back, collaborative, and individualized. Before focusing on a diagnosis or treatment approach, I want to get to know you as a person—what matters to you, what you’ve been through, what you’re struggling with, and what you would like to change. I commonly work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, eating disorders, trauma, and phobias. Most importantly, I want therapy to feel like a place where you can be human. You don’t have to show up with the right words or know exactly what you want to talk about. There is room for humor, frustration, difficult conversations, victories, setbacks, and everything in between. I don’t believe therapy should look exactly the same for everyone. My role is not to judge you or tell you how you should live your life. Instead, I want to understand you, offer support and perspective, and work alongside you as you move toward your goals.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I usually start by getting to know you and understanding what brought you to therapy. From there, we’ll talk about your goals and decide together what type of treatment makes the most sense. I believe therapy should be collaborative, so I’ll bring my clinical knowledge while also listening to what feels helpful and realistic for you. Depending on your needs, we may use EMDR, DBT, ERP, or a combination of approaches. EMDR helps the brain process traumatic or distressing experiences so they feel less overwhelming in the present. DBT teaches practical skills for managing emotions, tolerating distress, improving relationships, and navigating difficult situations. For OCD and phobias, I use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), which involves gradually facing fears while learning to respond differently to the anxiety rather than relying on compulsions or avoidance. We’ll continue to check in about what is and isn’t working and adjust our approach as needed. Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all, and I want the process to fit you rather than expecting you to fit a particular type of therapy.
