Hi there, I'm Allison! Welcome, I'm so glad you're here! My name is Allison Brockway. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. I’ve been in the Social Work field for the last 6 years, gaining extensive experience working with school-aged children, teens, and adults. I am dedicated to providing a safe, comfortable space for individuals to navigate challenges. My goal is to help others create lasting change through evidence-based practices, care, support, and encouragement! My approach My primary approach to therapy is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). CBT focuses on identifying how our thoughts impact our feelings and behaviors. By working to understand and shift our thinking, we can change how we feel and act. I believe that we are the experts of our own personal stories and that each of us has strengths that will help us overcome challenges. I aim to provide a laid-back atmosphere where individuals can feel comfortable, supported, heard, and empowered to help themselves take on their challenges! I have a Christian worldview, which shapes how I think about things; however, I am very cautious not to bring my personal values and beliefs into sessions, allowing space for where the individual is at with their own values and beliefs. I use all of these perspectives to help individuals build their toolbox of strategies and coping tools to work through life’s challenges. My focus The majority of my experience is working with school-aged children and teens. Over the last few years, I’ve also started working with adults. I have experience supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, relationship issues, family conflicts, trauma, and abuse. I aim to personalize each session to meet each unique individual’s needs.
