Getting to know Allison Ciongoli

I earned my Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy at Pepperdine University. My experience working in community mental health and dual diagnosis treatment allowed me to cultivate a passion for trauma-informed care. I understand that wellness is an intricate balancing act and use an integrative approach to help my clients navigate anxieties, avoid burnout, manage relationships, and heal after trauma. My goal in therapy is to create a nurturing and secure environment where my clients can explore the stressors of daily life while developing greater self-awareness, resilience, and a sense of well-being. My approach is client-centered and integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed care, and mindfulness-based practices. This framework allows us to understand the impact of past and present experiences, build practical coping skills, and approach challenges with greater compassion and clarity. Together, we work to identify strengths, shift unhelpful patterns, and create meaningful, lasting change that aligns with a more authentic version of your life. When I am not with clients, I like to cultivate a balanced life by spending quality time with friends and family, cuddling my puppy Maple, and seeking new adventures through travel.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I work with clients who may be struggling with trauma, anxiety, or depression related to their childhood and relationships. During our initial sessions, we will work together to learn about these issues and collaborate on a plan that will evoke healing and processing. We will continue to work on how you can incorporate this healing in your day to day in order to achieve emotional well-being.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I offer an integrated approach using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed care, and mindfulness-based practices. This framework allows us to understand the impact of past and present experiences, build practical coping skills, and approach challenges with greater compassion and clarity.
