Getting to know Allison Fender
I’m Allison — a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Georgia with a deep commitment to helping people heal, grow, and reclaim their stories. With experience that spans individual therapy, couples work, community mental health, substance abuse treatment, hospital emergency rooms, and innovative therapies such as equine and animal-assisted therapy and care across generations, I bring a practical, compassionate, and no-nonsense approach to therapy.
I work with clients navigating complex emotions, life transitions, family dynamics, trauma recovery, and the lingering impact of early core beliefs like “I’m not good enough.” Whether it’s identifying the root of long-held shame, learning to communicate more clearly in relationships, or developing tools to manage anxiety, depression, PTSD, or ADHD — I tailor each session to the person in front of me, blending insight with strategy.
My background also includes building systems and interventions that support both healing and daily function — I’m someone who values both emotional depth and real-life solutions. I believe care should be innovative, personal, and grounded in dignity.
Currently, I provide services via telehealth, making it convenient and accessible for clients to receive the support they need. I hold a license in the state of Georgia (LPC009001) and am committed to making therapy accessible by accepting most major insurance plans, including Medicaid, Medicare, VA, and Tricare.
Outside of my practice, I’m a caregiver, a lifelong learner, and a believer in asking big questions like: What does it mean to live well — even when life gets hard?
If you're looking for a therapist who will listen closely, challenge gently, and work alongside you to create meaningful change — welcome. You’re in the right place.
What should a new client know about working with you?
Hey, I’m Allison — a Licensed Professional Counselor who believes therapy should be real, honest, and actually helpful.
My style is practical and warm, with a touch of humor and a focus on what works. I help people untangle the patterns holding them back — whether that’s old beliefs, relationship struggles, burnout, or the pressure of trying to hold it all together.
I work a lot with clients navigating depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma recovery, and feeling “not good enough.” I also understand what it means to juggle caregiving, career, and chronic stress — because I’ve lived it too.
If you're looking for someone who will listen without judgment, offer tools without the fluff, and help you feel seen and supported — I’d be honored to be part of your journey.
