Psychotherapist
WI
Hi! I'm Allison. As your therapist, my goal is to work alongside you in achieving your desired holistic health outcomes. Life is crazy, and we often push our physical, mental, and spiritual health aside when work or family life gets to be too much. I'm a firm believer that if we take care of ourselves first, we are better people for our marriages, kids, friends, coworkers, and community. I applaud you for considering stepping into the scary world of therapy. I'm here to walk with you through any hesitations and allow you to feel deeply while taking a hard look at your life. Not only are we going to talk about your thoughts and feelings, but we will discuss your lifestyle. Your day-to-day choices can be the thing stopping you from being your best self. In a therapy session with me, you can expect to have a safe and open space where I will truly listen to you and encourage you to dig deep into what makes you 'you' and how you can use your life experiences to positively shape your future. My areas of expertise are in anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, partner/marriage complications/concerns, addiction disorders, and religious exploration. I primarily use CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Interpersonal Therapy, and the Gottman Method in practice, but will cater towards your needs. When I'm not working, I enjoy playing volleyball and basketball, baking, reading, spending time outdoors, watching reality TV, and traveling with my husband to the National Parks. I graduated with my Bachelor's in Social Work from Trinity Christian College near Chicago, IL, and obtained my Master's in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I've been working in the field for 5 years and have worked in community mental health and in emergency departments. Again, I appreciate you reaching out for help, and look forward to working on goals together for you to be holistically healthy. If you have any questions for me, please reach out!
