Getting to know Allison Perry

I am a therapist working with teens and young adults in Wisconsin who are facing depression, anxiety, confusion about their identity, urges toward self-harm or suicidal thoughts. I do not prescribe medication. You might feel overwhelmed, unsafe inside your own skin, or unsure how to speak about what you are experiencing. Perhaps mood swings, stress, or parts of yourself feel too heavy or too hard to share. In the midst of inner chaos and pain it can feel like you are completely alone. I want you to know that you are not alone and I am ready to listen. I am ready to support you through these challenges so you can feel more confident, safe, and capable to handle what life brings.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I use a strengths based, compassionate approach that honors you as a whole person. In our sessions I draw on evidence based strategies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) while offering validation, gentle challenge, empathy and occasional humor. I also offer Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to work on trauma and related concerns. Together we explore what hurts and what is possible and build practical coping skills and emotional tools for change.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I offer Telehealth services as well as in person therapy in West Allis. Through our work you may gain more confident, function better with daily living skills, and feel safer. You may gain insight into yourself, utilize coping skills, and reduce suffering. Over time you can grow toward greater stability, self-acceptance, and hope. I look forward to supporting you on your journey.
