Getting to know Allison Spinner

I started this practice in the wake of Covid, recognizing the need for a safe space that allowed people to process, analyze, and recalibrate. As far as my approach to counseling, I have always viewed therapy as a verb. I value collaboration and participation in my sessions and I always encourage my clients to take a leading role in shaping the goals and intended outcomes of our sessions. Born and raised on Long Island with a large and diverse family, I know the importance of feeling seen and heard in a counseling session and I am intentional about fostering trust and honesty in every client interaction. I specialize in anxiety/depression, addiction, eating disorders, couples therapy, professional challenges, and family therapy. I have experience working with children and adults in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I have received specialized training in trauma, CBT, Psychoanalytic approaches, motivational interviewing, and solution-based approaches. Therapy is never a one-size-fits all model and I look forward to working with you to figure out which approaches and techniques work best for you, your life, and your goals
