Psychotherapist
1811 W North Ave, Ste 402, Chicago, IL
I became a therapist because I believe in the power of being seen, heard, and supported during life’s most challenging moments. Growing up in a Mexican household, mental health was rarely discussed and often felt like an unfamiliar or inaccessible topic. However, with the support of my family, I began to challenge those beliefs and pursue my passion for becoming a counselor. I wanted to support others who, like me, have experienced stigma, silence, or misunderstanding around their mental health. I understand the feelings of being unheard or stuck in life and how isolating that can be. Through my own therapeutic journey, I experienced how meaningful it is to have a space where you are truly listened to and seen. As a therapist, my goal is to create a supportive and empowering environment where you feel safe to explore your experiences and move toward the life you want to build.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I work with adolescents and adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, life transitions, relationship concerns, and self esteem challenges. I am passionate about supporting college students and young adults as they explore identity and navigate change. I understand how isolating mental health challenges can feel, especially when support has not always been accessible. I provide an affirming and inclusive space for BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and neurodivergent individuals, especially when mental health is stigmatized, and help clients explore generational patterns, trauma, and their impact on identity and relationships. In my work with couples, I help partners improve communication, deepen emotional connection, and strengthen the foundation of their relationship. My approach focuses on helping both partners feel heard and work collaboratively toward meaningful change.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Working with me begins with the connection we build together. I work with many communities, including those who are BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and also a part of the neurodivergent community. I believe healing and growth happen within a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental relationship. I am committed to sitting with you through all stages of life, from joyful moments to challenging ones, and everything in between. My approach is collaborative and integrative, drawing from DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), and IFS (Internal Family Systems). Your voice is central to the work we do, and together we explore thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and patterns while gently challenging what no longer serves you. I focus on helping clients build self-awareness, resilience, and confidence in their ability to navigate relationships and life stressors. Therapy with me is a space to reflect, explore, and grow while fostering a greater sense of authenticity and empowerment in your daily life.
