Alma Phillips is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over twenty years of experience in the mental health field. She received her Master's in Social Work from California State University, Long Beach, with an emphasis on children, youth, and families, and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, San Diego. Alma works with children, adolescents, adults, and families. Her specialized certificate in Play Therapy has given her extensive experience and training in working with children's issues. She also offers EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and speaks Spanish. Alma's areas of focus include adjustment problems, adoption, anxiety, blended families, depression, grief/loss, parenting, stress management, and trauma. Alma demonstrates great empathy with her clients and uses an eclectic approach with an emphasis on cognitive-behavioral interventions.
