Hi there, I'm Alonso! I am a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master's in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. My therapeutic approach begins with listening to the client and how they hold their narrative. From that point, I determine which modality fits best. This can range from somatic to family systems to varied forms of cognitive behavioral approaches. I view most work through a depth and existential lens, supporting clients as they move past outdated modes and seek strength to create a new sense of meaning and purpose. I work with diverse populations embodying varied identities and stages of life. My clients are often navigating ways to better understand their own process while facing life stressors. My communication style is rooted in curiosity, leaning toward exploring one's internal process. My journey to mental healthcare is fueled by a deep curiosity and humility toward the unfolding literature of humanity. I have always been involved in social service in some form. Before becoming a licensed therapist, I worked in the creative arts field. I am constantly in awe of human resilience and feel honored to witness such transitions. Goals are set collaboratively with direct input from the client's intentions for therapy. During the initial session, clients are seen and heard with a non-judgmental, empathic approach while we assess and collaborate on a plan of action to best serve their therapeutic needs.
