Getting to know Alphonso Miller
Hello! My name is Alphonso! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s in Social Work from Our Lady of the Lake University. I have experience providing therapy for children, adolescents, adults, and families. I have served individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and those facing severe mental health challenges. I have provided clinical services in outpatient, inpatient, and private practice settings.
Everyone engages in therapy for their own reasons, and those reasons may be very serious. No matter how serious the situation, I do my best to foster a light and warm environment where humor is good medicine when appropriate. I want you to know that while in therapy, you will have your own space to feel comfortable being who you are without judgment. You, the client, will always be treated as the expert within your own life. My therapeutic approach includes evidence-based practices that will help you address challenges and negative thinking, allowing you to change these thoughts and unwanted behaviors. Through collaborative goal-setting and open communication, we will work together to develop practical cognitive and behavioral strategies designed to empower you to achieve your goals and improve your life experience.
What should a new client know about working with you?
Therapy with me can be expected to be client-centered, which means I tailor the therapeutic experience to the needs and preferences of my client. Throughout the therapeutic process, we will focus on identifying and challenging unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to emotional distress, thus promoting healthier cognitive and behavioral responses.

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
