Getting to know Alycen Davis

My counseling style is trauma-informed, individualized, and paced to ensure comfort and readiness for each client. I am deeply passionate about helping individuals overcome the distress of their past and ease their anxieties about the future. I believe our childhood experiences play a significant role in shaping who we are, and I strive to create a safe, supportive space where clients can explore their past and process their trauma. With unconditional positive regard, I gently reframe perspectives shaped by past experiences, fostering healing and growth.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My treatment approach is eclectic and tailored to each client’s unique needs. I am familiar with many theories and interventions. I primarily use Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Psychodynamic Therapy (and much more!)

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I believe that everyone has the innate capacity to heal when given the opportunity to process in a safe and supportive space. With a humanistic, strengths-based approach, I guide clients toward their goals in a direct yet compassionate way, allowing space for exploration, emotional processing, and the development of a trusted therapeutic relationship. ****Important Info After you Book on Zocdoc**** Welcome! A Few Steps Before Your Session Before your first appointment, you will receive two emails with invites to two portals (one for telehealth and one for insurance billing) • Client Portal: You’ll receive an invite to the secure Simple Practice portal, where you can complete intake paperwork and join telehealth sessions. There’s also a mobile app for easy access from your phone. • Insurance Setup: Look for a separate email from Headway to set up insurance billing—please check your spam folder just in case. We’ll need to verify your benefits before your appointment to ensure coverage. Some of the forms may feel repetitive between platforms—I truly appreciate your patience, as it’s all required for compliance. Please complete your Simple Practice intake forms at least 24 hours before your appointment. I’ll send a reminder via email the day before, but if the forms aren’t submitted after the reminder or I don’t hear back from you, I’ll assume you’re not ready to begin and will cancel the appointment. You’re always welcome to reach out when you’re ready to reconnect. If you need support with the paperwork, I’m here to help. I know it can feel overwhelming—especially during tough times. Thank you, and I look forward to working with you!
