Psychotherapist
NH
Hi there, I'm Alyson! Hello! My name is Alyson Lewis and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). I work with clients throughout New Hampshire using telehealth services. I have been a practicing clinician since 2009, and I have been independently licensed since 2012. I work with clients of all ages, and I specialize in anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, grief and loss, and life transitions and adjustment disorders. I predominantly utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Brief Therapy to assist clients in reaching their therapeutic goals. My approach My approach to therapy is tailored to each client’s individual needs. I most commonly use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing to treat clients. I strongly believe that therapists should teach skills that clients can go on to use throughout their lifetimes. Many of the skills I teach are based in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy techniques. My focus I have successfully worked with people of all ages, from children as young as five to adults in their nineties. I am most comfortable treating children and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, grief and loss, and life transitions and adjustment disorders. I also have extensive experience in providing support to caregivers who are experiencing stress and burnout in their caregiving role, whether this be parents of minor children or people caring for a parent, adult child with a disability, ailing spouse, etc. I work with my clients to identify what they would like to be different in their lives, and help them achieve these changes in developmentally appropriate and individualized ways. My communication style My communication style is easy going and laid back. I strive to create an environment and a therapeutic relationship where my clients feel comfortable to share anything they are thinking and feeling.
