Getting to know Alyssa Desroches

I help adults who feel like they’re “doing all the things” on the outside, while secretly running on fumes inside. Many of my clients are professionals, creatives, and parents who are navigating ADHD, autism, complex trauma, or burnout in a world that wasn’t designed with their brains in mind. My approach is both compassionate and practical: blending EMDR, somatic practices, and art-informed techniques to support healing at a deep level. I work with clients who want more than quick fixes—they want to understand themselves, build self-trust, and move through life with more ease, clarity, and confidence. Therapy with me is collaborative, nonjudgmental, and affirming. I value the uniqueness of each client and tailor our work together so that you feel seen, supported, and empowered.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You don’t have to show up as the “together” version of yourself here. I create a space where you can be real, without having to mask or over-explain. I’ll guide with structure and strategies, while honoring your pace—therapy with me is about building self-trust, not fixing who you are.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I start by getting to know your story and goals, then tailor therapy using approaches like EMDR, somatic work, and creative strategies. Sessions are collaborative, structured but flexible, and focused on helping you feel more grounded, confident, and connected to yourself.

I can’t recommend this practice enough. As a mom who was feeling burned out and overwhelmed, I finally found a therapist who understands both the emotional and physical toll of it all. Their holistic therapy approach really resonated with me — especially the use of EMDR, which helped me process stress in a way that talk therapy alone never did. I also appreciate how affirming and supportive they are of neurodivergent experiences. I always leave sessions feeling lighter and more capable of handling daily life.
