Every day, you drift further from your partner. You feel so alone and unwanted. It’s hard to remember the last time you were physically and emotionally intimate with each other. Lately, it feels more like you’re living with a stranger than a life partner. You dream of the way things used to be. Your bond was so strong, and nothing could shake the connection you shared. Holding hands, laughing together, feeling good about yourself and each other. There wasn’t a doubt in your mind that you were loved and treasured. The spark has faded. You had so much in common – interests, values, dreams, goals – that you built a family together. But, since then, all the other commonalities you shared have disappeared. Now you’re just parents. You don’t know what happened to the fun, sexy people you used to be. Are they gone forever? Communication is nonexistent. When you try to talk to each other, it only leads to blame, judgment, and conflict. So, you stopped talking. Somewhere along the way, you both stopped trying, and resentment has been building by the day. It’s like you’re caught in a constant cycle of hurt that neither of you knows how to break free from.

What should a new client know about working with you?

As the founder and CEO of The Couples Academy, I’m committed to providing you with the tools to understand your partner and yourself better. Learn to recognize that each of you processes things differently. This will require you to see your issues from your partner’s perspective while validating their reality and for them to see their issues from your perspective. Develop healthier coping skills and ways to manage conflict without resorting to conflict or passive-aggressive silence. Rediscover the people you were when it was you against the world, and your love made you each thrive, grow, and be the best version of yourselves.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

To serve my clients well, I sought additional expertise in helping individuals dealing with anxiety or perfectionism and couples dealing with issues related to sex, intimacy, and personality disorders. I use trauma-informed methods and have training in the Gottman method, a highly effective approach used in couples therapy. For couples and clients who have experienced trauma, I received training through the Couples Academy. I am very confident in helping couples and clients who have experienced trauma, and I am honored that you have taken the time to learn about The Couples Academy and me. Therapists are the best investment you can make for your relationship, and the most important relationship is your partner, your other half. Having a satisfying relationship and those butterflies again is possible if you use the tools provided and follow the coaching. Working with couples is my passion. I love to help them have a more satisfying relationship with tools and exercise to benefit from this new change in a relationship. I use many techniques to help couples and those needing assistance with trauma. As a therapist, I have trained in anxiety, Gottman, perfectionism, trauma-informed, sex and intimacy, and personality disorders.
