“Alyssa really listens to understand and meet me where I am. She isn't afraid to ask difficult questions, but also reminds me that we are doing this at my pace and my comfort level. She talked me through a particularly harsh emotional moment and helped me find skills/techniques that helped me in the moment, that I can apply in the future on my own as well.”

Getting to know Alyssa Pena

I am a firm believer in "one shoe does not fit all," which is why I use an eclectic approach with my clients. There will be days when one therapeutic approach may benefit you more than another, or sessions where multiple approaches will be used. Improving your quality of life is my priority, and I believe the best way to achieve that is by tailoring each session to meet your specific needs. In sessions, you can expect a collaborative approach, including preference assessments to target your presenting concerns. I hold a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University, which has equipped me with diverse skills to support you effectively. My schedule is very flexible, so let's pick a day and time that works best for you! I look forward to hearing from you!

What should a new client know about working with you?

Psychoeducation is a big part of my treatment, the more you understand your "why" naturally the intervention window grows.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

I have had many therapists but none even close to Alyssa. A few of the therapists I've seen don't even come close. I feel very comfortable with her and she always had great real world advice. I'm so happy to have her as my therapist. ??????
She was very good, great listener!
