Psychotherapist
TX
As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist, I operate primarily out of Denver, Colorado, offering help to clients both here and in Texas. I assist individuals across all ages to regulate their emotions, navigate identity issues, manage peer relationships, and learn independent living skills. I also support adults and parents dealing with life transitions including moving, career switches, and personal or familial relationship improvements. Being extensively trained in play and sandtray therapy techniques, I integrate these skills into my practice. I also ensure that my approach is trauma-informed, with the requisite training to back this up. In providing therapy, I adopt a humanistic and solution-focused approach, centering on the client’s strengths and emphasizing personal growth. I help clients identify the symptoms or matters causing distress and guide them in exploring the underlying factors that affect their present wellbeing. This way, I help them pinpoint steps to achieve their goals and meet their specific needs. My therapeutic style is eclectic; I utilize a range of techniques and interventions like cognitive-behavioral, sandtray, and acceptance and commitment interventions amongst others, based on the client's individual needs and objectives. During our initial appointment, we'll identify your goals and discuss potential strategies or treatments. Working diligently to establish a safe and trusting atmosphere for my clients, I ensure that our relationship is an egalitarian one. I graduated with a BA in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin before earning my MA in Professional Counseling from Texas State University at San Marcos. My experience encompasses working with youth in the foster care system and the juvenile justice system. I have been in private practice since 2019.
