Have you ever wondered how your childhood trauma/sexual abuse has affected you as an adult? Do you notice having difficulty opening up fully with others? Are you noticing negative relationship patterns? Do you experience negative self-talk/thinking? Childhood trauma has a funny way of sticking with us as adults. It can not only affect how we see ourselves, but how we show up with others in relationships, and how we view the world. I use a psychodynamic approach to help you understand your trauma and how it is showing up consciously or unconsciously in your day to day life. Psychodynamic therapy is considered long term because, healing takes time. It places an emphasis on building a therapeutic alliance, trust, and safety. It can be incredibly difficult to open up about such complex events and emotions. It is important to me to create safety in our sessions and allow you to move at your own pace. I’m glad you’re here and ready to take the steps toward healing. I look forward to starting our therapeutic journey together. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. What should a new client know about working with you?

I allow you to work at your own pace as I can empathize with how difficult it is to be vulnerable and open about such personal and challenging issues. Building a therapeutic alliance is of great importance to me.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I use the first 3-4 sessions as an assessment period for us to get to know each other. After the completion of the 4th session you may speak freely of how your experience is going and if you would like to continue. You have the autonomy to decide if this is the right type of therapy for you or if I'm the right fit!
