70 W Oakland Ave, Suite 306, Doylestown, PA
I’m Amanda Ducsak, MSW, LCSW, a social worker and therapist who believes that therapy should feel like a place where you can be honest, understood, and supported without judgment. My approach is warm, down-to-earth, collaborative, and tailored to the person or family sitting in front of me. I work with children, teens, adults, and families navigating anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, grief and loss, life transitions, family conflict, behavioral concerns, and other challenges that can make everyday life feel overwhelming. I also have specialized experience supporting individuals and families through bereavement, serious illness, caregiving, traumatic brain injury, and complex family circumstances. Over the course of my career, I’ve worked in hospice and bereavement care, in-home therapy, crisis residential services, juvenile probation, and outpatient mental health. These experiences have taught me that there is no single approach that works for everyone. I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches and work collaboratively with each client to identify practical goals, build coping skills, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful change. I believe the first step in therapy is building a relationship where you feel comfortable being yourself. Our first session is a conversation about what brought you in, what you’ve been experiencing, and what you hope will be different. From there, we’ll develop a plan together and adjust it as your needs change. Whether you’re seeking support for yourself, your child, or your family, my goal is to meet you where you are and help you find a path forward.

What should a new client know about working with you?

What You Should Know Before Working With Me Choosing a therapist is a personal decision, and finding someone you feel comfortable with matters. My style is warm, compassionate, practical, and collaborative. I want you to feel heard and respected while also feeling supported in making meaningful changes. I don’t believe therapy should be one-size-fits-all. We’ll take time to understand what is happening in your life, what you need, and what you hope to accomplish. I’ll bring clinical experience, perspective, and therapeutic tools to our work, while you remain an active partner in deciding what feels most helpful. Some sessions may involve processing difficult emotions or experiences, while others may focus on concrete strategies, communication, coping skills, relationships, or navigating a current life transition. Therapy can be challenging at times, but you should never feel judged or pressured. You also don’t need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. You simply need to be willing to begin the conversation. Most importantly, I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is built on trust, honesty, and mutual respect. If you’re looking for someone who will meet you where you are, listen without judgment, and work alongside you toward meaningful change, I’d be honored to be part of that process.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

What Does a Typical Session Look Like? There really isn’t a “typical” therapy session—and that’s intentional. I want our time together to reflect what you need, rather than follow a set script. We’ll usually start by checking in and talking about what has been happening since we last met. Sometimes you may come in knowing exactly what you want to talk about. Other times, you may simply know that something feels off and you need a place to sort it out. Either is completely okay. We might spend time talking through difficult emotions, relationships, family dynamics, stress, grief, or a challenging situation you’re facing. We may also work on practical tools for managing anxiety, communicating more effectively, setting boundaries, coping with difficult emotions, or navigating a life transition. I’ll listen, ask questions, offer perspective, and share strategies when I think they may be helpful. Most importantly, we’ll figure out together what works for you. You never have to worry about saying the “right” thing or having everything figured out before you walk through the door. Some days may feel productive and focused, while other days may simply be about having a safe space to breathe, talk, and feel understood. Both are valuable. My hope is that you leave our sessions feeling a little more understood, a little more clear about what you’re experiencing, and with a manageable next step when one is needed. We’ll take it one step at a time, together.
