“We've had the privilege of having Amanda work with my elderly parents during a transformative and stressful time in their lives. One of her standout attributes is her remarkable empathy. From the outset, she created a safe and non-judgmental space for my parents to open up about their concerns and challenges, which is vastly different from having those same discussions with family members. Her ability to connect and listen to them on an emotional level made them feel truly heard and understood, fostering a sense of trust that is crucial in any therapeutic relationship. I am grateful for the positive impact she has had on their lives and would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone seeking compassionate and expert support.”

Getting to know Amanda Joshi

Life at times can be overwhelming and stressful. During these times, it can be helpful to have someone to talk to. As a licensed clinical social worker with a Master’s in Social Work from Fordham University, my goal is to provide a safe place to explore your feelings and help you develop and strengthen your coping strategies. My experience as a therapist includes working with adults facing chronic medical issues, grief and bereavement, stress, depression, and anxiety. I’ve worked in hospital settings and provided individual therapy. Using therapeutic techniques, we will work together to get you back on a path of positive self-improvement. I look forward to working with you!

What should a new client know about working with you?

Through my experience I have found the best way to help is to meet the client where they are at. I do that by creating a space space in order for clients to explore their feelings. From there we will work together using a evidence based therapeutic strategies to help create positive changes in your life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Clients can expect a virtually warm and welcoming environment. In our first initial session we will discuss where you find you are struggling. From there sessions after will be a place to continue to explore these struggles and use different coping strategies and distress tolerance techniques to help you manage what is going on. I'm flexible with regards to scheduling.
