Getting to know Amanda Lee
Hello, I'm Amanda. Have you ever felt depressed, anxious, or not good enough? Do you ever wonder how to move past a traumatic incident from your past? I work with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, PTSD, self-esteem, grief, and addictions. My goal is to help you become the best version of yourself so that you can live your most fulfilling future.
I use a variety of interventions including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), person-centered focus, solution-focused approach, and mindfulness. I believe in tailoring my approach to meet your unique needs and preferences, ensuring that our work together is both effective and meaningful.
My journey to becoming a mental health counselor began after my time as a law enforcement officer. During that period, I realized that mental health and addictions were not being properly addressed, and many “offenders” needed rehabilitation and therapy, not jail and prison. This realization fueled my passion for mental health, leading me to transition into this field in 2015. Since then, I have dedicated myself to helping individuals overcome their challenges and achieve their full potential.
I specialize in working with a diverse range of issues including addiction, ADHD, anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, family relationships, grief/bereavement, life transitions, military/veteran support, PTSD, stress, suicidal ideation and/or self-harming, trauma, anger management, LGBTQIA+ support, and intimate/romantic relationships. Whether you're dealing with a specific issue or navigating a major life transition, I'm here to support you every step of the way.
In our sessions, you can expect a caring and empathetic environment where your experiences and feelings are validated.

What is your typical process for working with clients?
In our sessions, you can expect a caring and empathetic environment where your experiences and feelings are validated. I am committed to providing a safe space for you to explore your thoughts and emotions, and to work collaboratively towards your goals. Together, we can uncover your strengths and develop strategies to help you lead a happier, more fulfilling life.
If I seem like a good fit for you, please reach out to schedule an appointment. Due to my client caseload, I do not allow clients to schedule themselves on my calendar. However, I do have spots available, so please message me to determine a day and time that works with both your schedule and mine. I work days, nights, and weekends, so I'm sure we can find a time that works!
I look forward to working with you and supporting you on your journey to wellness."

This was my first appointment with this doctor, but I really appreciated the way she listened to everything that I said and then thoroughly explained how she generally works with her clients and how things would proceed from here. I didn't leave the appointment wondering about anything. She answered ALL my questions for now and let me know if there were other things that would be handled next time.

Amanda has literally saved my life. After experiencing horrific abuse for my entire life, Amanda has been one of the first therapists that I fully trust and feel understood by. She is truly judgment-free, a great listener, very intuitive with her clients, and immediately accessible via her crisis line if the needs of the client warrant that. After being in therapy on and off for most of my life and hospitalized three times, I finally have hope that my trauma may have shaped me, but it does not define me. I feel confident that I can survive and heal for the first time ever. Within 3 months, Amanda was able to talk me through multiple traumatic events and make me feel like she has been my therapist for my entire life. She finds just the right balance of being gentle and calling me on my bs. Amanda is truly a miracle worker.

Zero follow up. Feels like this provider plays a numbers game of getting as many virtual appointments as possible and not actually sending any follow up info. Not to mentioned there was no strategy or actual info given during appt. Seems like the goal was to just get a next appt. Not to mention it’s not been 7+ days with no further contact - this should all be within 24 hours. There are providers out there who are timely, and provide an individualized approached.

It was scary spilling all of the things that I’m not proud of but Amanda made me feel super comfortable. She listened and made sure I knew what my path to better mental health will be.
