Psychotherapist

Hi there, I’m Amanda Magallanes! I’m a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a Master’s in Professional Clinical Counseling from California State University, Stanislaus. I am passionate about meeting clients where they are and supporting them through challenges with guidance, compassion, and encouragement. I incorporate spirituality in my practice and focus on the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit. My goal is to help clients tap into their inner strength, find meaning and purpose, and cultivate resilience on their journey toward growth and healing. My approach is unique to each client based on their individual needs. I most often use Adlerian Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness techniques, and spirituality to foster a therapeutic relationship that supports healing, recovery, and growth. I have found that my style best fits adults dealing with life situations and social challenges that often result in depression, anxiety, stress, adjustment issues, and grief. My communication style is warm, accepting, calm, open-minded, and nonjudgmental. I aim to provide a safe space for my clients to feel comfortable expressing their thoughts, emotions, and feelings openly during sessions. I have always had a desire to help people. I feel compassionate about supporting others who need guidance. I knew that being a therapist was my path when I was in graduate school—it didn’t feel like school but rather an opportunity to deepen my knowledge. The education I received validated my desire to help people. Seeing clients step into their strength and resilience is what drives me to do this work. I believe goal setting is an important part of the healing and growth process. I take a collaborative approach to assist clients in identifying their needs, finding solutions, and tracking their progress. I use encouragement throughout our time together.
