Getting to know Amanda Marie Mastrup

Over the past 20 years, I have developed my skills and training in community and publicly funded non-profit programs, focusing primarily on underfunded, impoverished communities struggling with substance use, depression, anxiety, and generational family trauma. More than anything, I have applied the concept of ?normalizing? the experience of seeking help, so that all of my patients feel comfortable reaching out for support. I earned my Master's in Counseling Psychology from the University of San Francisco, which has provided a strong foundation for my clinical work. My approach with all patients is to ensure that you are the expert in your life. My primary modality combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and short-term, solution-focused sessions, so we can identify your needs, build on your strengths, and work toward the goals you have set to achieve. I have extensive experience in trauma and anxiety management, family-systems therapy, and life transitions. Throughout treatment, we will use behavioral interventions to support your short-term or long-term goals. I truly enjoy helping patients dive deeply into issues related to parenting and re-parenting, attachment, personality deficits, as well as life transitions that cause anxiety, distress, and depression. We will focus on your strengths and identify therapeutic strategies to apply and practice outside of our one-hour weekly sessions.
