I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. I am a person-centered therapist who believes people generally know what they need but sometimes benefit from an outside source to help them reflect, question, connect, and adapt different thinking patterns to find solutions. I believe you are the expert in your life. My approach is present-focused, allowing you to be in charge of your session and focusing on what feels most important to you. The main therapies I use include cognitive behavioral therapy, internal family systems, Gottman, brief solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing. I consider myself eclectic and encourage feedback to best fit your needs. I typically work with couples and families to improve communication, clients with anxiety and/or trauma, those wanting to increase mindfulness and self-exploration, and clients seeking to regulate emotions, including anger management. I believe change can happen only when someone feels heard and understood. I strive to create a safe space where you can open up, allowing creativity, curiosity, and resolutions. You are in charge of the session and, ultimately, your progress, with my assistance, support, and encouragement. My journey to mental healthcare began because I want to help people. Many of my family members have struggled with mental health, and I want to be an advocate, confidant, and supporter to help others overcome difficulties. I believe people can change, and I enjoy helping others feel more fulfilled and satisfied in life. I believe in your capability and love empowering you to find your own value and worth. It is very rewarding to see people uproot negative thinking patterns, increase their confidence, and offer themselves and others the love and kindness they deserve.
