Amanda Omar, LCSW

Amanda Omar, LCSW

Psychotherapist
IN
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who provides psychotherapy, family support services, and specialized assessments. In therapy, I work with adults facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship struggles, and life transitions. My style is straightforward yet compassionate—I believe in creating a safe space where you can be honest, challenged, and supported as you work toward meaningful change. Alongside therapy, I provide independent biopsychosocial assessments (comprehensive evaluations that look at mental health, physical health, family, and social factors) and forensic social work services for defense attorneys and court-involved clients. This includes consulting, expert assessments, and clear reports that can support decision-making in complex legal situations. I also offer supervised and therapeutic visitation services for families, as well as clinical supervision for LSWs and pre-licensure social workers. My goal is always the same—whether in therapy, family work, or forensic consulting: to provide clarity, empower informed choices, and support healthier outcomes.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You can expect me to be straightforward, compassionate, and invested in your progress. I don’t sugarcoat, but I also don’t judge—I believe in creating a space where you can be completely honest and know that I’ll meet you with both empathy and truth. Therapy with me is collaborative. I’ll bring my expertise, but I’ll also expect you to bring your goals, your effort, and your voice. Together we’ll explore what’s holding you back, practice practical tools, and build strategies that actually work in your real life. Clients often tell me they appreciate that I’m both down-to-earth and direct. I’ll encourage you, challenge you when needed, and help you connect the dots so you can move forward with clarity and confidence.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

When starting therapy, our first session is focused on getting to know you—your history, current challenges, and what you want to see change. From there, we’ll build a plan together that’s realistic and focused on your goals. In ongoing sessions, we balance space to process what you’re going through with practical tools you can use outside of therapy. I often draw from approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), but I adapt to your needs and style. For forensic or assessment clients, the process looks a little different. I provide independent biopsychosocial assessments and forensic social work services, often in consultation with defense attorneys or court systems. In these cases, my role is to gather a thorough understanding of your background, mental health, and social supports, then provide clear, objective documentation or expert input to support informed decisions. Whether you’re coming in for therapy or for an assessment, my goal is the same: to bring clarity, honesty, and meaningful outcomes that move you forward.
