Getting to know Amanda Pecha

I provide evidence-based, client-centered psychotherapy in a supportive and collaborative environment. Treatment is tailored to each individual’s needs and paced to support emotional safety, insight, and skill development. Sessions focus on both understanding the impact of past experiences and building practical strategies to promote resilience, emotional regulation, and lasting change. I believe effective therapy is grounded in respect, transparency, and collaboration. My role is to guide, support, and gently challenge clients as they work toward their goals, while honoring their autonomy and lived experience.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My therapy style is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I believe therapy works best when you feel safe, respected, and truly heard—without judgment or pressure to “have it all figured out.” I use evidence-based approaches, including EMDR and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for trauma, along with CBT-informed and strengths-based strategies. Sessions are structured but flexible, meaning we’ll focus on practical tools while also making space to process deeper experiences at your pace. You can expect: A supportive, honest, and non-shaming environment Clear goals and practical coping skills Gentle challenges to unhelpful patterns when you’re ready Respect for your lived experience, values, and autonomy I work well with individuals navigating trauma, addiction recovery, self-esteem, anxiety, and life transitions. Therapy with me isn’t about being “fixed”—it’s about building insight, resilience, and skills so you can feel more grounded and confident in your daily life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our sessions, we’ll start by checking in on how you’ve been feeling since our last visit and what feels most important to focus on that day. Some sessions may be more conversation-based, while others are more structured and skill-focused—this depends on your goals, your pace, and what you’re needing in the moment. I often help clients: Explore thoughts, emotions, and patterns that may be keeping them stuck Learn practical coping tools they can use between sessions Process past experiences using evidence-based trauma approaches such as EMDR or Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) when appropriate Sessions are collaborative and interactive. I’ll offer guidance, reflections, and gentle challenges, but you remain in control of the direction and depth of the work. There’s no pressure to talk about anything before you’re ready. For clients working through trauma, sessions are paced carefully with an emphasis on safety, grounding, and emotional regulation. For others, therapy may focus more on problem-solving, building self-esteem, improving relationships, or strengthening recovery skills. Your first session will focus on understanding what brings you to therapy, your goals, and what you hope to gain from treatment. Together, we’ll create a plan that feels realistic and supportive.
