What should a new client know about working with you?

Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, and you don’t need to have everything figured out before we meet. Our first sessions are a chance for us to get to know each other, talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, and begin identifying what you’d like to be different in your life. You’re welcome to come as you are—even if you’re not sure where to start. We’ll move at a pace that feels manageable, approaching your experiences and the ways you’ve learned to navigate them with curiosity and compassion.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We’ll start by getting to know you and developing a shared understanding of what brings you to therapy, the experiences that have shaped you, and what you’d like to work toward. An important part of this process is building enough safety and trust for us to explore difficult experiences without feeling the need to rush. From there, therapy is tailored to you rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach. Depending on your needs and goals, our work may include exploring patterns in relationships and emotions, building practical skills, understanding different parts of yourself, or using EMDR to work with difficult past experiences. We’ll regularly check in about what feels helpful and adjust our work together as your needs evolve.
