“Amanda is always working to make sure we are both on the same page, repeating what she's hearing from me to confirm, and taking the time to repeat something if I'm not following. I really appreciate this about her. For me, she's the therapist that I have needed all this time. I really feel understood, seen, and genuinely valued as a person.”

Getting to know Amanda Price

I am a clinician with 11 years of post-master’s experience working with children, teens, and adults. My clinical background includes work with individuals, couples, and families across a variety of settings. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Ohio State University, a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Findlay, and an Associate’s degree from Ohio State University, Marion. I am licensed as an LISW-S in Ohio and an LCSW in Florida. My therapeutic approach is humanistic, client-centered, and strength-based. I draw on a broad range of evidence-based modalities to support clients facing challenges such as trauma, depression, anxiety, and personality disorders. These include Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy. I am an affirming ally to the LGBTQIA+ community and am experienced in supporting clients practicing ethical non-monogamy. My work is grounded in a non-judgmental stance, and I fully recognize that meaningful change takes time. My goal is to empower individuals with the tools they need to manage their emotional well-being and navigate life’s daily stressors with confidence and resilience.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am open, affirming, and warm. I do not believe in the use of stigmatizing labels. I have training and experience in LGBTQIA+ issues and polyamory or ethical non-monogomy. I work collaboratively with clients to set goals for treatment to ensure that we are tackling the barriers that you are experiencing in your life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

An initial session is 60 minutes long and centers around gathering background information and setting goals for treatment. Follow-up sessions are also 60 minutes and are less formal. We will discuss any significant changes and events that occurred between sessions, monitor symptoms, and work on making progress on the goals set. We also work closely with psychiatrists and medication prescribers and can provide referrals if needed.

I felt heard and seen for the first time in a long time. I was skeptical of therapy at first, but its been almost a year and I couldn't imagine being the person I was beforehand. Thank you for empowering me to work on myself!
I have had a few counseling experiences in the past and Amanda has by far been the best. She creates a very welcoming and inclusive environment from the start. She shares her educational expertise by explaining the ‘why’ behind the reactions and behaviors discussed, both on a physiological and psychological level. I would highly recommend Amanda if you are someone who is looking for a fresh start with a qualified mental health professional.
