Getting to know Amanda Primm

I provide a warm, supportive, and collaborative space where clients feel heard and understood. I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, mood disorders, grief, life transitions, and trauma. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based treatment for trauma and PTSD. My approach blends a multitude of techniques with insight-oriented therapy to help clients build skills, process experiences, and create meaningful, lasting change without a "one-size-fits-all approach.

What should a new client know about working with you?

In practice, I help clients heal from anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma by offering a safe, supportive space to process emotions and build coping skills. Using trauma-informed, evidence-based approaches, I guide clients toward greater self-compassion, calm, and confidence—helping them move from surviving to truly living with balance and purpose.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

While working with clients, I will collaborate with you on your goals, as well as provide an active and empathetic listening style to cater therapy to your specific needs. I provide a space of transparency, light heartedness, and a non-judgmental atmosphere to allow you to reach your goals.

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Amanda for nearly a decade, including as a former colleague, and have always been impressed by the care + passion she brings to her work. She is an incredibly talented and thoughtful therapist who approaches her clients with genuine warmth, compassion, and respect. She is deeply committed to her work and to providing meaningful, high quality care. I would recommend her without hesitation to anyone looking for a skilled and truly caring therapist.
I just started to work with Amanda. She's the first therapist that has felt really down to earth. I've been to a lot of therapists, but she has a style that is real and was the first that I feel doesn't judge my situation. If you're tired of going to people that sound like prerecorded meditation gurus, and if you want a real human being to level with, Amanda is the right therapist for you.
Amanda is very attentive, thoughtful, and personable. She listens to any problems and is always willing to provide thoughtful guidance.
Amanda is a great listener — we talked through all my mental health concerns and she came up with some great coping mechanisms. She has excellent bedside manner and is very easy to talk to.
Amanda is a great therapist! She is kind, empathetic, and supportive, while also knowing when to gently challenge you when needed.
I can’t recommend Amanda enough! She is compassionate, understanding, and truly makes you feel heard and supported. She has a way of creating a safe, comfortable environment where you can be completely yourself without judgment. She listens thoughtfully, offers practical guidance, and truly wants the best for the people she works with. I would absolutely recommend her and her practice!
