Getting to know Amanda Rockey

I have been a counselor for over 20 years, treating depression, anxiety, panic, post-traumatic stress disorder, and bipolar disorder. I work with children, adolescents, and adults, and I am an eclectic therapist who uses cognitive behavioral therapy and client-centered therapy. I work collaboratively with my clients to develop a cohesive therapeutic relationship and meaningful treatment goals. I also have experience working within the school system with children and adolescents.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I approach treatment as a joint effort in order to best serve the client. I believe in being open minded and approachable. I create a warm, trusting environment in order for the client to feel comfortable. Together we will set goals we want to accomplish and strive to achieve those goals in a supportive environment.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A typical session starts with a virtual visit in your comfortable environment. I like to listen attentively to what your issues are and what you hope to gain from therapy. I believe that talk therapy is what is best in order to best serve the needs of the client. We will set goals and together we will work to help you receive the best treatment possible.

Once you attend your appointment, a bill is created and sent off to your insurance to pay. If you have a copay then that will be billed to the client. I do offer a sliding scale fee if no insurance is available.
