“Amanda has helped me overcome blocks that I had with my last two therapists. At a certain point we would hit a wall and they wouldn't know how to help me. Amanda's holistic approach has helped me get more comfortable with myself and learn more about myself. She is warm, open-minded, funny, direct AND authentic. I would recommend her to anyone who: I thought highly of and would be dedicated to self-reflect and do "the work". PLEASE hire more people like her. I LOVE THERAPY!”

Getting to know Amanda Shifreen

Take a breath in. Exhale slowly and feel your feet supported by the Earth beneath you. Notice the impact of this one breath in your body—celebrate this moment of peace. Riding the waves of this human experience can at times be challenging and call for support from an external resource. It is in this calling that I welcome you to delve into therapy. Stepping into an unknown therapeutic relationship can evoke many feelings, and as I invite you into this space, your feet are on the ground and your breaths pace our work. In our time together, my intention is to guide us in a mind-body-soul approach to the therapeutic process. I embody compassion, genuineness, authenticity, and vibrant energy that will allow our relationship to grow. In my clinical work, I use a narrative therapy framework in session to engage clients in the telling and rewriting of their stories. This may be to work on a specific challenge, identify life themes, or understand a life’s journey. I will also utilize yoga, meditation, and breathwork in session to support the regulation of the nervous system and maintain a safe space for our work. I am here to remind you that everything you need is already within you. I invite you to join me as we uncover strengths and skills that allow contentment, joy, and peace to find you every day.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When beginning a session with me, I expect that your nervous system may feel dysregulated or tense emotions may be present. I will support you in releasing the tension both mentally and physically and working through your challenges methodically and with intention. My hope is that you leave our sessions with calm energy, clarity and direction on how to support yourself in your everyday life.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

Amanda is the perfect practitioner for me. She is kindred to me in her holistic lifestyle and spirituality, while also remaining very grounded in logic and reasoning. She is a fantastic listener and offers feedback that is validating, but also challenging and offers accountability. She remembers important themes from previous sessions and makes connections to patterns in my thoughts, behaviors, actions, belief-systems and self-talk. She is always on time, very communicative and is flexible when I need to make changes to our sessions. I feel comfortable to be my most authentic self with her; full of flaws, vulnerability, honesty and transparency. She allows me the safe space to go within myself and take a look at all of my patterning and conditioning that no longer serves me, while also encouraging and tending to healthy habits and lifestyle changes that do serve me. She is empathetic to my challenges and direct in her approach towards my treatment. She helps me meet my goals, live in the best version of me, navigate my marriage with compassion and strength and find joy. She has been a light for me during my dark times and is a very intelligent individual. She offers great solutions and ideas, and has me laughing and feeling lighter along the way. She is a very, very authentic provider and I am lucky to have found her.
