She conducts therapy sessions with individuals and groups using evidence-based treatments including CBT, DBT, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing. Amanda provides trauma-focused treatment through psychoeducation on the effects of trauma on the brain and nervous system, utilizing “bottom up” techniques that help heal the mind through the body, such as somatic/sensorimotor psychotherapy and polyvagal theory. She also enjoys incorporating creative expression and art in therapy with clients who have more difficulty articulating their experiences in words.
In her spare time, Amanda enjoys arts and crafts, collage journaling, hiking, golfing, other outdoor activities, watching sports, playing board games with family, playing with her two pugs and a cat, and laughing every day with her husband.
