Amanda Youth, LCSW

Psychotherapist
HI
My name is Amanda Youth, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Honolulu, Hawaii, working with clients statewide via telehealth. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Hawaii and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon. I work primarily with adults, specializing in anxiety, stress, and substance abuse, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help my clients make progress and start feeling better. My approach to therapy varies based on each client’s needs. I most frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy alongside strength-based and person-centered approaches. This unique combination of psychotherapy with a practical, solution-focused style can help you create a successful pathway toward long-term solutions and meaningful life change. I have found that my style and approach are a good fit for adults dealing with life transitions, anxiety, relationship issues, stress, substance abuse, and depression. My communication style is calm, accommodating, and personable. I want my clients to feel comfortable talking with me about anything, and I pride myself on my ability to listen without judgment. When it comes to goal setting, I work collaboratively with clients to define what they want to accomplish during our time together. This process often begins by building trust and getting comfortable with what therapy means. Over time, we will set goals and track your progress together. In our first session, you can expect us to spend most of the time discussing how you’ve been feeling recently. I will ask questions to better understand some of the reasons behind those feelings. The first session is about building an initial connection and helping me get a sense of where we should go from there. Every individual is different, and I like to listen first before assuming what will work best for you moving forward.
