Hi there, I'm Amaris! Hello! My name is Amaris Blevins, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Southern California. I counsel with a compassion-focused and trauma-informed lens, encouraging curiosity and validating clients along the way. My approach Often times we come to therapy out of desperation, confused and overwhelmed by our minds and inner worlds. I like to think of therapy as a "consulting room" where we work collaboratively to bring you peace, clarity, and security. My focus I offer a non-religious space, making room for whatever belief system you do or don’t have. I also highly value diversity and inclusion, making your therapy experience an LGBTQ+, Transgender, and BIPOC safe space. My communication style I believe our mental health is most soothed by balance and security, two things which I bring to all my sessions. I bring balance by blending my education and straightforward approach with compassion, empathy, and humor. My journey to mental healthcare Throughout earlier years of my life, I often felt emotionally neglected and overwhelmed, with no resources that truly made me feel seen and understood. As a result of my own healing and education journey, I now find purpose, passion, and fulfillment in helping others find healing and wholeness through mental health treatment. My goals for you I highly value giving my clients autonomy and choice, honoring and empowering them to take control of their lives through goal setting. The goals we work toward are client-centered and prioritized by level of emotional distress. My first session with you During the first session, background information is gathered through conversations and questions. This session also gives us both an opportunity to see if we are a good fit and if you feel comfortable moving forward.
