Getting to know Amber Fernbach

My name is Amber Fernbach. I am a proud alumnus of Mississippi State University, where I obtained my Bachelor's in social work. Later on, I traded maroon and white for garnet and gold by attending Florida State University, where I received my Master's degree in social work. While I will always be a bulldog girl, the Seminoles are not so bad. I am a registered clinical social work intern in the state of Florida, close to being fully licensed as an LCSW. I have a passion for working with children, teens, and young adults. I find joy in assisting this population with discovering new ways to see life. Providing young people with opportunities to develop skills that will help them with their life struggles is my biggest daily motivator. My hobbies include spending time with my family, my corgi, and the outdoors. I find peace in sitting on the beach or laying on a float in the water. Moana and I are one and the same when she says that it calls her. I also enjoy reading and listening to audiobooks. My goals in life are to continue growing as a person while enjoying each day to the fullest by traveling the globe. I enjoy visiting local coffee shops in every new place I visit. My specialties include treating interpersonal trauma, depression, anxiety, anger, sexual abuse, and PTSD. I am well-versed in crisis prevention and intervention. I am very knowledgeable regarding the child welfare system in Florida and have experience working within the realms of DBT, CPT, play therapy, and CBT. I am excited to be accepting new patients during nontraditional business hours, including evenings and weekends, and welcome you for all of your needs, whether short-term or long-term.
