Getting to know Amber Petchonka

Hello, I am a licensed professional counselor and a board-certified art therapist. I have been practicing for just over five years and earned my master's degree in art therapy from Cedar Crest College in Allentown, PA. I help clients with various needs such as anxiety, life transitions, ADHD, relationships, communication, and coping skills to support them in becoming the best versions of themselves. I began my journey at KidsPeace Children's Hospital as an art therapist, leading group and individual therapy sessions for a couple of years. After KidsPeace, I transitioned to St. Luke's Hospital in Quakertown as a therapist running group therapy sessions. Talk therapy is the most common method on this platform, but if you have any interest in art therapy, we can certainly incorporate that into our work together-whether during sessions or as homework. The choice is yours!

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

Leaving this review after my first session. I had a good experience overall. She was attentive and told me what I should expect from sessions going forward. She gave me suggestions on what I would need to do to be productive in the sessions especially considering my own personal idiosyncracies. Looking forward to future sessions.
So grateful for Amber! Thank you. ??
The only reason it isn't 10 is because we only just started, but I have high hopes. Also, I have fears and doubts about sharing a therapist with someone I know, knowingly.
