Hi there, I'm Ambrosia! Ambrosia Isely, LCS, LICSW, PMH-C I start with an attachment/humanistic lens. I use a variety of tools depending on the preferences and needs of my clients. I work with children, parents, families and individuals. I have a certification in perinatal mental health. This equates to specialized training in managing the highs and lows of parenting and birth trauma. My approach I use dialectal behavior therapy, child and parent psychotherapy, EMDR, sound therapy, mindfulness, the Gottman method, trauma focused CBT, solution focused therapy, attachment, and internal family systems. You are the expert in your life. I am here to walk along side to find the answers. My focus I find it enriching to keep my caseload diverse. Because of my educational and professional background I specialize in working with children, families, and parents. My communication style Most people I speak with report their frustration in feeling judged or unseen by their therapist. Therapy should be the one place where a client can feel safe to express their thoughts and feelings. A client is always safe in communicating their needs and preferences with me. This is a place where positive and connecting communication flourishes! I am your ally, your support, and safe place. I am dedicated to creating this environment for you. My journey to mental healthcare I got a flavor of social work when first working with individuals with developmental disabilities in 2011. Since then, I have continued to seek out social service roles to satisfy my need to support and help others. Throughout my career I have witnessed many injustices, and system failures. This emboldened me to continue a career that supports people in finding their highest purpose. I found my niche in working in family systems. My major is in Psychology with a minor in Communication and Human and Family Development.
